There are a number of scraps of paper inserted as bookmarks in pt. 1, e.g. pp. 76-77, 78-79, 88-89, 110-111, 174-175, 176-177, 216-217 and 240-241, perhaps indicating books Sir Richard Ellys was interested in buying. Binding: eighteenth-century full sprinkled calf; sewn on five sewing supports; five raised bands; blind double fillet and roll pattern border; gilt roll pattern along board edges; gilt title on brown leather label on spine; red sprinkled textblock edges.
