Binding: early eighteenth-century French mosaic binding in the floral style. Light brown morocco within a triple fillet in which, unusually, the centre line is dotted, and with an onlaid frame of red, green diagonal corners and flower stems and leaves, blue flowers and red centres. On both the upper and lower covers the bunches of flowers are done entirely with gouges, and turn, in the main, towards the spine. Blue and red lettering-pieces with circular design onlays; red and green headbands, three pink silk markers, edges gilt over marble, pink silk lining with plain gold leaf facing.
