Provenance: Armorial bookplate (between 1733 and 1754): Philip Lord Hardwicke Baron of Hardwicke in ye County of Gloucester [i.e. Philip Yorke, 1st Earl of Hardwicke (1690-1764), created Baron Hardwicke, 1733, and Earl of Hardwicke, 1754]. Binding: Seventeenth-century sprinkled, panelled calf over boards on five raised cords, gilt double fillet with lozenge-shaped floral tool on spine, double blind fillet with inner rectangular compartment and cornerpiece design on covers, gilt roll on board edges, red and brown sprinkled edges. Spine label missing.
