Shelved with Latin edition of vol. 2 (1750) and bound to be an almost matching set. Vol. 3 is thick paper copy. Pencil “489/3” on pastedown of vol. 1. Pencil lines against plate index in vol. 3 at numbers IV (Giove), VI (Giunone), XIX (Venere) and XXII (Amore, e Psiche) [i.e. those which are missing]. Provenance: no marks of provenance. Binding: eighteenth-century diced brown calf over boards on four raised cords (plus two false raised bands), gilt floral and foliage spine tooling, gilt spine titling, triple gilt fillet and border roll on board edges, gilt floral and foliage roll on board edges, gilt edges, olive green silk bookmark.
