Provenance: armorial bookplate (between 1733 and 1754): Philip Lord Hardwicke Baron of Hardwicke in ye County of Gloucester [i.e. Philip Yorke, 1st Earl of Hardwicke (1690-1764), created Baron Hardwicke, 1733, and Earl of Hardwicke, 1754]. Binding: eighteenth-century sprinkled, polished, sheep over boards on four raised cords plus three false raised bands, git spine tooling, pink spine label, gilt roll on board edges, blue, pink and yellow mottled edges.
