Two sheets of notes in different hands, inserted between vol. 1, pp. 222-3 [eighteenth?-century hand on paper watermarked with a crown over a shield with a hunting horn in the centre and monogram CW underneath; nineteenth-century hand is on paper watermarked 1823 – could be the same hand over time]. Provenance: Armorial bookplate: The Honble. Charles Yorke [i.e. Charles Yorke (1722-1770), younger brother of the 2nd Earl of Hardwicke; Lord Chancellor, 1770]. Binding: Eighteenth-century polished sheep over boards on six raised cords, gilt spine tooling, light brown spine labels, number panel underneath is painted black then gilded, gilt roll on board edges.
