Binding: eighteenth-century Cambridge-style blind-panelled sprinkled and plain calf; sewn on three cords; five raised bands; gilt roll pattern along board edges; rebacked (twentieth-century) in sprinkled sheepskin, with original gilt title label retained; pencil note on front pastedown: "Repaired at Cambridge ?1956". Red and brown sprinkled textblock edges.
