Provenance: Armorial bookplate: Chute of the Vyne [i.e. Chaloner William Chute (1838-1892); the plate was designed for him in 1885 by his brother-in-law William Wyndham Portal, but also used by later generations]. Some pencil annotations in nineteenth-century hand, perhaps that of Chaloner William Chute]. Binding: Eighteenth-century half red straight-grained morocco; marbled paper sides; gilt spine title ‘Simon’s Medals’.
