Provenance: Bequeathed to the National Trust by Norman Norris (1917-1991). Inscribed on v. 1 flyleaf in Norris's hand: Buckminster Park, Grantham (Tollemache) H. [i.e. Hodgson's] 28/4 '50 Lot 552 Đ11. Lacks list of subscribers in Vol. II. Plates O.K. but some misplaced. [Buckminster Park, Grantham, was associated with the Tollemache family / Earls of Dysart, who also owned Ham House]. Loosely inserted: envelope lettered Buckminster Park, Grantham. Binding: Twentieth-century (?) full diced Russia calf over boards; gilt fillets and roll-tools to form a border; gilt inner border; spine gilt with title 'History of Northamptonshire; sewn on six double raised bands.
