[Franks 22667 is the plate of a Thomas Papillon (fl. 1825) but this looks later.] Nineteenth-century book label of the type found in other Papillon / Crowhurst books, lettered D.D.S.4.N.7. in print and ms. Bequeathed to the National Trust by Norman Norris (1917-1991). Inscribed on v. 1 pastedown in Norris's hand: Crowhurst Park, Battle 12/3 '42. Lot 11. [Crowhurst Park, Battle, East Sussex, home of Papillon family].. Binding: Eighteenth-century full mottled calf over boards; spines gilt; brown leather spine label with title "Newton's Milton"; sewn on six raised bands.
