Provenance: pencil inscription on endpaper in eighteenth-century hand: John Doharty jnr.; with an unidentified Chippendale-style bookplate on pastedown, name excised. Binding: seventeenth-century full calf, sewn onto five raised bands; red spine label: Chardin's Travels. Lozenge-shaped paper pressmark at head of spine: J/[?]4.
