Ephemera: rusted metal thing with white silk thread wrapped around it inserted between pp. 80-81 (leaves X2 and Y1) in vol. 6. Provenance: manuscript inscription on vol. 1 half-title: "T Halcott. [code/symbol] in all [illegible]". Manuscript inscriptions (with some variations) on title page of vols. 1-5 (partially cropped by binder): "T: Halcott [codes/symbols]" (in brown ink) and "Vol. in [codes/symbols]" (in black ink). Binding: eighteenth-century full calf (rubbed and water damaged); sewn on six raised bands; double gilt fillet and blind roll pattern border; gilt roll pattern along board edges; gold-tooled spines; gilt title and vol. number on brown goatskin label on spines. Red sprinkled textblock edges.
