Provenance: In ink on flyleaf, in seventeenth-century hand, perhaps that of John Robartes, (1606-85, 1st Earl of Radnor) 'the 277 page'. (which contains text headed 'Of faith and good works'.). Binding: Sewn on 4 tanned supports. Seventeenth-century sprinkled calf, blind tooled with frames of filets, with cornerpieces. An iron hook, for fastening some item of clothing, (approx 20 x 18mm) has been mixed into the pulp of the lower board, leaving an impression, partly rusty, on the inner surface. The hook itself can be felt through the leather of the cover.
