Ephemera: folded leaf of paper inserted at front and three separate leaves of paper inserted between p. 302-303 (second count), all containing manuscript notes in Greek or English written by William Windham III (1750-1810). Provenance: eighteenth-century Jacobean armorial bookplate (Franks 32206), lettered: William Windham Esquire [i.e. William Windham III (1750-1810)]. Bookplate has been pasted over faint ownership inscription on pastedown: "Willm: Windham, Oxford ..." (the rest obscured) [probably from when William Windham was a student at University College, Oxford]. With occasional marginal annotations and underlining of text in pencil, a sign that William Windham III has read the book. Manuscript notes and codes on rear pastedown. Former Felbrigg shelfmark in pencil: K7 and L7 (crossed-out). Binding: eighteenth-century full Cambridge-style blind-panelled sprinkled and plain calf; sewn onto six raised bands; gilt roll pattern on board edges; gold-tooled spine; brown leather label with gilt title on spine; red sprinkled textblock edges.
