Provenance: Armorial bookplate (between 1733 and 1754): Philip Lord Hardwicke Baron of Hardwicke in ye County of Gloucester [i.e. Philip Yorke, 1st Earl of Hardwicke (1690-1764), created Baron Hardwicke, 1733, and Earl of Hardwicke, 1754]. Binding: Early eighteenth-century sheep over boards, gilt spine tooling and title, double gilt fillet and small floral cornerpieces on covers, gilt floral roll on board edges and inners, brown and yellow sprinkled edges.
