Provenance: Bookplate: John Myddelton Esqr. of Chirk Castle Denbighshire [i.e. John Myddelton (1685-1747)] (the plate of Robert Myddelton of Chirk Castle with inscription altered); Jacobean armorial, after 1733. Franks 21457. This has been pasted over an earlier plate, probably that of John's brother, Robert (1678-1733).. Binding: Eighteenth-century sprinkled calf binding; double gilt fillet and blind foliate roll border; gold-tooled spine.
