Bequeathed to the National Trust by Norman Norris (1917-1991). Inscribed on v. 1 pastedown in Norris's hand: H. [i.e. Hodgson's] 17/4 42 Lot 259. Binding: Nineteenth-century full sprinkled calf over boards; gilt roll-tool to form a border; gilt edges and inner border; spine gilt, with title "Rae's History of the rebellion of 1715."; sewn on five raised bands.
