[i.e. catalogue code of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Ellys], with Mitchell's manuscript code at foot of leaf: "ε¹" [i.e. epsilon¹ = Greek number 5¹]. Inscriptions on front endpapers: [1] "Z"; [2] "Ck"; [3] "5". Binding: eighteenth-century sprinkled and plain calf over boards, blind tooled to a Cambridge-panel design; single gilt rule along board edges; six raised bands, gilt tooled spine with gilt title "MAY" on goatskin label; red sprinkled edges. Upper board detached.
