Provenance: inscribed "William de Grey May 10th 1673" [i.e. MP for Thetford (1652-1687) and uncle to Elizabeth Windham whose father was William (1647-1689). Eighteenth-century armorial bookplate, lettered: William Windham Esquire [i.e. William Windham (1717-1761)]. Binding: seventeenth-century full calf sewn onto four raised bands; double blind fillets and additional lines drawn parallel to spine. Lozenge shaped paper label at head of spine: Z/9.
