Binding: seventeenth-century polished sheep over boards on five raised alum-tawed thongs (centre one is false), incunable printers' waste used as part of both endpapers, triple blind border fillet on both covers, double blind fillet on spine, single gilt fillet on board edges, red painted edges. Eighteenth-century dark blue leather spine label with gilt roll tool and lettering; spine title: Mare Clausum. Ink splashes on the bottom of both covers.
