Inscribed on pastedown in Norris's hand: Lamer Park H. [i.e. Hodgson's] 13/2 48. Lot 461 5/-. Read N.N. May 1950. A complete vindication of Lady Marlboroughs actions at Court. Very pathetic N.N. [Lamer Park, Hertfordshire, home of the Cherry family].. Binding: Eighteenth-century full calf over boards; gilt fillets; sewn on five raised bands.
