4v. . 12mo.. Provenance: Bookplate in each vol.: Erthig (anonymous armorial). Manuscript inscription on vol. 1 title page: "D Yorke" [possibly Dorothy Yorke (d. 1787), wife of Simon Yorke I]. Manuscript inscription on vol. 2 front endpaper: "Mr Thos Birches's books" [possibly Thomas Birch, banker to Simon Yorke II].. Binding: Eighteenth-century sprinkled calf bindings; gilt roll on board edges; red gilt title label on spines.

Provenance

Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
