Title page has manuscript additions in an eighteenth-century hand as follows: "first" inserted before 'satire' (also on the half-title), a quotation from Horace, and at bottom "the second edition corrected by the author, with a preface", the preface is handwritten and tipped in between the half title and the title pages, the text has passages crossed out and new lines inserted and other annotations, bound in Poems 1733-42, contain two inserts wrapped in tissue paper, shelf label on front pastedown: The National Trust Ickworth. Binding: Twentieth-century quarter brown morocco, marbled paper over boards, gilt lettered on spine "Poems 1733-42".

Part of the Bristol Collection. The house and contents were acquired through the National Land Fund and transferred to the National Trust in 1956
