Manuscript initial "M." on front endleaf [i.e. catalogue code of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Ellys], below eighteenth-century bookseller's code "ui or sale". Pencil marking crossed out in ink on front endleaf. Binding: eighteenth-century full sprinkled calf over boards with double gilt fillet and blind foliate frame; blind roll pattern on board edges; five raised bands edged with double gilt horizontal lines and gilt title tooled directly on to spine. Red sprinkled edges.
