Binding: mid-eighteenth-century French blue morocco with dentelle border of small tools, including sheep, lying down and standing, a shepherd's crook. Central lozenge of ornamental elements which do not appear elsewhere on the binding and the large scroll differs from those in the corners. The lozenges appear to conceal repairs of blue leather roughly 18mm. in diameter. The spine has a brown lettering-piece, with a flower and shepherds' crooks in the other panels. Red, orange and black headbands, gilt edges, yellow silk marker and linings.
