[i.e. catalogue code of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742)]; with Mitchell's manuscript code at foot of leaf: "Α-δ'." [i.e. Alpha-delta = Greek number 1-4]. Manuscript number on rear pastedown: "87". Binding: late seventeenth or eighteenth-century full sprinkled calf; sewn onto five sewing supports; gilt leafy roll pattern along board edges; gold-tooled spine with stamp and roll decoration; gilt title stamped directly onto spine. Red and brown sprinkled edges.
