Binding: seventeenth-century full brown goatskin; sewn onto five recessed sewing supports; smooth spine; covers have a framework of double gilt fillets consisting of an outer frame mitred at the corners to an inner frame; gilt armorial centerpiece stamp (unidentified): on an oval quarterly 1 & 4 paly of six, 2 & 3 three birds [pigeons?], helm barred affronty with mantling; spine has a framework of double gilt fillets consisting of an outer frame mitred at the corners to an inner frame, with the gilt title Adversar Barthii within a double gilt fillet panel. Brown sprinkled bookblock edges.
