Binding: late seventeenth- or early eighteenth-century full sprinkled calf over boards with double blind fillet border and blind roll floral pattern adjacent to spine. Gilt roll pattern on board edges. Five raised bands; gilt tooled spine with title "HERNE'S | CHARTER | HOUSE" on red-brown goatskin label. Three supports laced in; pastedown and endleaves at both ends. Red densely sprinkled and burnished edges.
