Without cancel quire "a": title leaf is [pi]2, followed by "By the King, a proclamation, for preventing and punishing immorality and prophaneness" (caption title) on leaves A1r-A3v, "Her late Majesties gracious letter" on leaves A4r-A5v, "The humble address of the House of Commons to the King" on leaves A6r-A8r, "To the author" on leaves [chi]1r-[chi]2v, and "We of the kingdom of Ireland, whose names are under-written" on unsigned leaf. Provenance: manuscript initial on front fly-leaf: "M." [i.e. catalogue code of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742)]. Binding: late seventeenth-century or early eighteenth-century red morocco; double gilt fillet border; panel of double and single gilt fillets, with gilt cornerpiece and floral sidepiece stamps; floral centrepiece design with bees made up from repeated stamps and dotted roll pattern. Gilt roll pattern on board edges. Gold-tooled spine, with title 'Account of society' stamped directly in gilt. All edges gilt. Marbled endpapers.
