[i.e. catalogue code of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Ellys], continued "Tho' sheet M. be wrong number'd, & some other places.". Manuscript inscriptions on first front endleaf in seventeenth-century hand: [1] "h"; [2] "I-y". Manuscript price code(?) on verso of back endleaf: "ma [rule] e". Binding: seventeenth-century full brown sheepskin over boards, double blind fillet border and additional double blind line parallel to and near spine, with blind fleurons and small circles at the corners. Single gilt line along board edges (worn). Three recessed thongs; smooth spine with double blind lines to form seven compartments. Endbands lost. Three supports laced in. No pastedown; endleaves at both ends. Red sprinkled edges. Leaf 2R1 torn. Stored in book shoe.
