[i.e. catalogue code of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742)]; [2] "Tho: Luck | b:o | m g | B-I-6"; [3] price code "α¹." [i.e. alpha 1 = Greek number 1]. Binding: late seventeenth- or early eighteenth-century full sprinkled and plain brown calf over boards, blind-tooled to a Cambridge-style design of triple fillet panels and fleurons at the corners. Gilt roll pattern along board edges. Four raised bands; gilt tooling on darkened spine with gilt title "HOWARD | HISTORY" on brown sheelpskin(?) label. Endbands with front beads. Pastedown with conjugate endleaf and second endleaf with stub adhered as guard beneath pastedown at both ends. Red sprinkled edges.
