[i.e. catalogue code of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys]; with Mitchell's manuscript code at foot of leaf: "ζ½" [i.e. zeta½ = Greek number 7½]. Manuscript former shelfmark[?] and price on front fly-leaf: "9 G 11" and "10s.". Manuscript note on folded leaf pasted onto front fly-leaf, text begins: "Pour prendre des Trüittes. / Prenés gros comme vn oeuf de Mommie de la plus vieülle, ..."; with manuscript docket title on the reverse: "Segret pour prendre des truijtes. Enuse[?] alemain". Manuscript marginal annotations [e.g. p. 307]. Manuscript note on errata leaf states that all the errors have been corrected. Binding: seventeenth-century mottled calf; double blind fillet border; gilt roll pattern on board edges. Rebacked in goatskin, with original gold-tooled spine retained. Marbled gilt edges (faded).
