Manuscript initial on front fly-leaf: "M." [i.e. catalogue code of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742)]. Binding: eighteenth-century light brown calf inboard binding with double gilt fillet border. Gilt geometric pattern on board edges. Five raised bands; gilt tooled spine with gilt title on light brown goatskin label. Endbands with blue-green and cream thread, front beads. Marbled paper pastedown with conjugate endleaf and folded endleaves at both ends. Red stained edges. Moveable green silk marker placed at pp. 212-3.
