Manuscript inscription on verso of front endleaf: "Leicester." [underlined] in hand of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Ellys [i.e. catalogue code and title note for anonymous works entered by Mitchell in his catalogue of Elly's library]. Binding: eighteenth-century full calf over boards with double gilt fillet border. Blind roll pattern on board edges. Five raised bands; gold-tooled spine with gilt title on leather label. Sewn on five supports, three cords laced-in. Pastedown with conjugate endleaf and additional endleaf at both ends. Endbands tied with red and cream thread. Red sprinkled edges.
