Manuscript title inscribed on verso of front fly-leaf: "Taxes" [underlined], in hand of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742). Binding: eighteenth-century sprinkled and plain light brown calf over boards, blind-tooled to a Cambridge-style panel design. Blind-tooled pattern on board edges. Five raised bands; gilt title "Account of Taxes" on red goatskin label. Five supports laced in; pastedown with conjugate fly-leaf and additional flyleaf with guard beneath pastedown at both ends. Red sprinkled leaf edges.
