Imperfect: wanting the plate of the menagerie, and the [4]pp. of preliminaries to vol. 2 An early owner has added a four column list of the birds by plate number as an index on the front pastedown. 20th century shelf-mark on front free endpaper: J7. Purchased at Sotheby's London sale of 6th May 2010, lot 9. Binding: early nineteenth-century quarter grained red sheep and marbled papers over boards on three recessed cords, single gilt fillet at edges of leather on covers, single gilt fillet and title on spine; spine leather rubbed and faded. Edges are all uncut.
