Summary
Pine, procession of the Panathenaic Festival, Sir John Gardner Wilkinson, FRS (1797-1875), the reverse inscribed 'Carved by the late/ Sir John Gardener Wilkinson FRS/ and part of his bequest to Calke Abbey/ November 1881 JC/ The procession suggested/ by round dusters hanging over chairs'. Supposedly after a panel in the Parthenon Frieze, perhaps block VIII from the East frieze, British Museum, London, 1816,0610.24.
