Summary
A pale blue wool, late 18th century gentleman's coat (a) and breeches (b). Decorated with gold braid. Stand-up collar, long sleeves and turned back cuffs all decorated with gold baid, the cuffs have a white net frill. Pockets have large flaps. Close fitting waist with a flared skirt, gold braided pleats from two covered buttons on either side of the vent at the back. Breeches higher at the back than the front, lined with brown cotton. Lace up holes at the back for waist adjustment. The waistband buttons at the front as does the flap and two pockets. The breeches become narrower in the leg and fasten at the knee with five covered gold threaded buttons. Gold braid around the base.
