Summary
A George III large silver-gilt cup and cover applied on either side with cast medallions above applied foliage and on a spreading foot, inscribed at the lip, 'Doncaster Cup 1777 Lord Lumley [and] C.W. Childes Esqr. Stewards'. The domed lid with a winged figure of Victory as a finial, by Smith and Sharp, London, 1777.
Provenance
Transferred to the National Trust by the Treasury in lieu of CTT in 1985 with an endowment provided by the NHMF.
