Summary
A George III neo classical bright-cut epergne surmounted by a navette shaped basket pierced with anthemion border reserved with a cartouche engraved with three crests above a shield-of-arms and motto. The reeded foot with acanthus border, on a flared stand modelled with laurel swags and festoons, above a presentation inscription to Vauncey Harpur-Crewe Esq., dated Easter 1876, the stand with an open rinceaux border and swags, on four fluted tapering legs joined by a stretcher, on paw feet. 17 inches high, by William Pitts, London 1789 (some damage)
