Summary
Portrait miniature, watercolour on ivory, Francis Greville, 1st Earl of Warwick, KT, FSA (1719-1773) by Jean-André Rouquet (Geneva 1701 – Charenton 1758). Oval. Head and shoulders portrait of a gentleman wearing a powdered wig, grey watered silk jacket with gilt frogging, and a white lace cravat. Bust portrait, the head turned to one side, the background shaded green. The back is engraved with a coat of arms between swan bearers, over the motto 'Vixea Nostra Voco'. (I may scarcely call these things our own).
