Summary
Oil painting on canvas (en brunaille), The Death of General Wolfe, after Benjamin West PRA (Swarthmore 1738 - London 1820). General James Wolfe (1727-1759). The 1770 prime version which was the first painting Benjamin West exhibited in public (RA 1771) is in the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa. This picture is an anonymous monchrome painting after West's painting, a 1779 version of which, also by West, is at Ickworth (NT 851783).
