Summary

A letter from Lord Armstrong to 'The Engineer', part of a group of ephemera relating to Cragside, including a typed copy of a letter, dated January 17th 1881, sent by the 1st Lord Armstrong to 'The Engineer' and discussing the lighting of Cragside using hydro-electricity, the Siemens' dynamo-electric machine and Joseph Swan's lamps; a meter reading book from Cragside, dated 1901-5, taken by Drake & Gorham (1228117); further paperwork from Drake & Gorham in regard to the condition of the electrics dated 1922; various newspaper articles about Cragside's history; and twenty one glass photographic plate negatives by Ilford of Cragside and other interests.
