Summary
Silver pair of snuffers (candle wick scissors), mark of Simon Pantin, 1731, scratchweight 4=8, with the arms of the 4th Earl and Countess of Stamford (a later re-engraving, as it was originally owned by the 2nd Earl of Warrington). Recorded as en suite with a snuffer pan by Paul de Lamerie (inv. no. 935992). Recorded in 'The Particular of my Plate and its Weight,' 30 April 1750, revised 1754, as '1 pair chased Candlesticks, Snuffer and Pan.'
