Summary
Gilt bronze sculpture on malachite base, Tsar Peter I, 'Peter the Great' Tsar of Russia (1672-1725), after Etienne-Maurice Falconet (Paris 1716 – Paris 1791). A small statue of Peter of Russia on a malachite base. He is shown astride a rearing horse, wearing a laurel wreath and a long cloak, seated on a saddle of fur, his right arm held out in salute. The base has a gilt inscription on the boulder of malachite; 'PETRO PRIMO/CATHARINA SECUNDAL MDCCLXXXII'.
