Summary
Georgian gold mourning ring, c. 1812. The polished hoop black enamelled and with raised central locket compartment containing hair under a glazed cover, dedicated to 'Lady Every Ob. 30 August 1812 Ae. 35'. Bearing hallmarks for London, 1812. In its original ring box, the lid stamped 'Richards and Edwards, Birmingham. Goldsmiths, 82 High Street, Birmingham'.
Provenance
Calke Abbey and contents transferred to the National Trust by the Treasury in lieu of CTT in 1985 with an endowment provided by the NHMF.
