Summary
A man's gold fob seal, circa 1775, with a finely reeded gold hoop pedestal and fluted domed circular gold base mounted with a large circular-shaped cornelian seal stone base engraved with the full armorials of the Harpur family. It is suspended from a plain gold split ring and accompanied by a smaller Georgian gold fob seal with scrolling pedestal and fluted circular base also set with a circular cornelian seal stone engraved with the armorials of the Harpur family.
Provenance
Calke Abbey and contents transferred to the National Trust by the Treasury in lieu of CTT in 1985 with an endowment provided by the NHMF.
