Summary
A small mourning brooch, jet and black enamel, circa 1819. The brooch, which memorialises Sir Henry Crewe, 7th Bt .(1763-1819), is of rectangular cushion shape and bears the monogram 'HC' on a black enamelled field in a border of small faceted jet. The brooch is engraved on the reverse 'Ob. 6th Feby. 1819 Ae 56'.
Provenance
Calke Abbey and contents transferred to the National Trust by the Treasury in lieu of CTT in 1985 with an endowment provided by the NHMF.
