Summary
Kitchen clock. Made by Whitehurst of Derby in 1794. The circular disc wooden face (on kitchen wall) is painted with Roman numerals in yellow. The brass workings are enclosed in an oak case behind the kitchen wall in the Cook's Room. The case has two doors on wide butterfly metal hinges. Behind the top door are the workings and behind the lower door the circular metal pendulum on a wooden stem. A weight hangs on a wire, through a pulley higher up on the wall and enters the case through the top. The clock also has a winding handle. The clock was inspected in April 1907, Feb. 1911 and April 1917, by Lineley of Melbourne, (written in pencil on the door).
