Summary
One of two mahogany open armchairs with squared back frame and squared legs and stretchers. Crest rail pierced with S-curves, ovals and rounded opening. Back uprights have shaped finials. Arms are curved with simple scroll terminals, on slightly curved supports. Drop-seat upholstered, stuffed with horsehair and covered in black oilcloth. 6 upright rods in back, with one squared cross-bar. Late 18th century. Lancashire railback. Seat of 573a will not lift out.
